Top 5 Windows 8.1 Features

So… this week Windows 8.1 was launched, so I thought of showing you a top 5 of features that Windows 8.1 brings new to the table.

So… For number 5 we have the resizable tiles. In windows 8 we had only 2 settings: 1×1 and 2×1. Now we have 0.25×0.25, 1×1, 2×1 and 2×2. In my opinion this feature gives us a much more customization. Now you can hide the ugly looking 1×1 tiles of the non-Modern UI Apps.

For 4th place we have the return of the start button. Yeah… I know it`s just the button, but it is really nice that we have it back and it makes the use of Windows 8.1 a little bit easier for former Windows 7 users.

On 3rd place I chose the customization menu, which got some enhancements. Now we can put the same wallpaper on start screen an also on the desktop, which in my opinion gives a smoother feel to the overall experience.

For 2nd place I decided to put the option to bypass metro UI. I think this is a smart choice from Microsoft because there were lots of people including me that hated the METRO UI all together because of the inefficiency of it.

And finally for the first place I chose the PERFORMANCE increase, which in my opinion is the most thing you can ask from Microsoft. We got kind of used to get some performance improvements at each Windows upgrade and it happened again. We can see slightly improvements in all the domains.

Now… for a change on what we were doing, I would like to ask you a question on every post, so that this can be much more interesting.

Question of the week:

Do you think that Windows 8.1 is what Windows 8 should`ve been from the get go?

Hope you like our new kind of posts and our new website. So… until next time don`t forget to share and comment my work, so that I know what to change if you think this can be improved.
